It was such an honor being involved with this couples big day. Their beautiful traditional ceremony paired with a lively, colourful and exuberant Indian ceremony was a pleasure to be a part of.

Catherine was immediately drawn to Laxman when they meet at an Otago University wine and cheese evening; his musical talents captivated her, whilst her endlessly happy personality captured him. Their engagement was a night that neither of them will ever forget. Laxman had Catherine’s friends help him to organize a night on the habour, together with all their friends. And with the use of his guitar – the same instrument that helped capture Catherine’s attention – he sang Catherine a song he had written for her. Yet, only when he sang, “Catherine, will you marry me?”, did she realize what was happening. The surprises kept coming too, as her their families came up from below the boat, along with the surprise visit of Laxman’s aunt and uncle from India. This storybook proposal followed through to their wedding day, a day filled with love and joy. The historic Anglican Cathedral added to the traditional wedding dream, during the first ceremony. Then, the Italian garden added to the magic of their Indian ceremony. All of this came together to create their magical day.
